Subject Description
The purpose of this course is to provide students with a practical working skills and knowledge of personal tax return preparation and research based on the current provisions of the Canadian Income Tax Act.
Basic T1 knowledge, or T1 Personal Tax preparation #1 and #2 is required

Learning Outcomes Expectation: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. Prepare and filing personal tax returns to the taxation of Canadian residents.
2. Determine income and tax liability of individuals and complete the individual T1 Income Tax return.
3. Identify and explain issues arising from the submission of individual income tax returns.
4. Use Tax Software (i.e. TaxPrep T1) as a tool to prepare and communicate with individual taxpayer and Canada Revenue Agency
5. Familiar with Self-Employed related schedule preparation
6. Familiar with Rental property related schedule preparation
7. Discuss and answer questions regarding the tax topics during the courses.
